Style of Wight visited the highly successful marine artist Martyn Mackrill, at his cosy home and studio in Freshwater, where he lives with his wife and three children. Apart from his family, the great love of his life is 'Nightfall', the gaff rigged cutter that he owns and has painstakingly restored. He has had seven one-man shows in London galleries, several group shows across the world and his work is owned by many important yacht clubs and individuals including Princess Anne and Prince Hendrik of Denmark to name but a few. For the past five years he's been with the prestigious Messum's Art Gallery in Cork Street, London where his work sells for up to £32,000.
