THE annual gathering was first dreamed up as four friends sipped cocktails in Ibiza while watching the famed sunset.
DJ Rob Da Bank, wife Josie and pals Ziggy Gilsenan and her hubby John Hughes loved the upbeat hedonism the clubbing mecca offered. They were desperate to recreate that colourful Balearic vibe and spirit of summer love back home in Britain.
The fearless foursome made it their mission to change the face of independent festival culture in the UK - and beyond. Eight years on Bestival has become a weird, wacky and wonderful mainstay on the global circuit.
