Emerging artists…
In an interview with Hannah Rose she explained her music as influenced by the likes of Bjork, Imogen Heap and Suzanne Vager, with an electronica twist. A style of music with lots of vocals, described as weird, and cool containing backing track, guitar and singing. Brought up in Bristol this self- taught mystic talent found herself on the local music scene, playing gigs as a supporting act at various venues such as Hush Hush Bar, Opo, and Mr Wolves.
Now settling well into Island life and the course at Platform One a good day out for Hannah Rose is a good rummage through the racks of the local charity shops, especially in Ryde to maintain her Vintage style. She loves her granny cardigan and is a great fan of Uncle Sam’s Vintage shop in Bristol.
Hannah Rose has played various gigs around the Island including at the Isle of Wight Festival on the Bandstand stage and Bestival at the chilled out Gazebo In The Woods in 2010. She also plays at The Studio, the Isle of Wight Rock Bar, Kasbah amongst others. With the launch of her Album on 19th January at the Wight Rock Bar (and then again in March) Hannah Rose is taking this opportunity to explore her musical writing talents such as writing her own backing tracks and using more instruments. And from February 2011 she’ll be popping up in gigs all around the Island including the Fairy Festival later on in the year. So get the date in the diary, it’ll be worth the wait!
