With over 80 full time courses, from Entry Level to Higher
National Diplomas, whether you have a passion for fashion,
enjoy getting your hands dirty with horticulture, or want
something even more stimulating, there is something for
everyone! The ambitious Year 11 school-leaver should
choose A Levels or BTEC Nationals (the real world
equivalent to A levels that are recognised and respected
worldwide) and can give direct progression to university
or Higher National qualifications.
A safe and exciting place to learn
Construction work on the new dedicated sixth form
centre for the study of A Levels will start at the end of
January; and with completion ready for September 2010
intake, the new centre will provide superb new facilities
with the latest technologies.
University courses on the Island
With A Levels, a Level 3 qualification or sufficient
industry experience, you should consider going into
Higher Education. The Isle of Wight College has formed
partnerships with University of Chichester, University of
Portsmouth and Southampton University to deliver some
of their courses at the Isle of Wight campus. Foundation
Degrees and Higher National Diplomas give acceptance
on to the third year of a degree course at the associated
university. Choosing to study a Higher Education course
part-time at The Isle of Wight College means it is
possible to still work and live at home. This will save on
accommodation and travel expenses.
