The Hear to Meet Walk is a three-mile walk along The Old Railway, Western Yar Estuary, one of the most stunning parts of our precious Island. It starts at 2pm at the main Yarmouth car park and finishes at the End of the Line Café. It’s suitable for walkers of all abilities and promises to be a great day out for all the family. At the end of the walk, all participants will receive a goody bag, certificate of achievement and a light snack.
How do I take part? Easy. Just complete the entry form and return it to RNID, 17b River Way, Newport, Isle of Wight PO30 5UX. Each walker needs to fill out a entry form. For children, a parent or guardian must complete the form on their behalf. You’re welcome to photocopy forms yourself, or you can order more by calling 01983 529533 or emailing rnid.iow@rnid.org.uk.
We ask all our adult walkers to pay a £5 entry fee and pledge to raise as much as they can. The walk is free to enter for children, but we ask them to pledge to raise as much as possible too!
What difference does the money I raise make? A huge, life-changing difference! By taking part, you’ll be helping us support the 3,000 people on the Island who use our vital services to adapt to and cope with their hearing loss.
Our activities include:
• visiting people who are feeling lonely and isolated, and offering them support
• lending people equipment that allows them to live independently and safely in their own homes
• running drop-in centres across the Island where we help hearing aid wearers maintain their aids.
