CHILDREN’S WRITING COMPETITION

Feb 4, 2020

START PRACTICING YOUR STORY WRITING SKILLS AS THE STYLE OF WIGHT CHILDREN’S WRITING COMPETITION HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

Following the success of the 2018 Style of Wight Children’s book we are delighted to announce it’s return for 2020. This competition gives young Island authors the chance to have their prize-winning stories published.

Specifically aimed at upper primary and secondary students, the competition encourages children to submit 500 original words on any subject or any theme and to fire up their creative story-telling minds.

As well as working closely with the IW Story Festival, we will be visiting Island schools inspiring children to participate in this exciting event.

Entries should be submitted by 5pm on the 24th September and we will shortlist finalists in our November/December issue. Entries will be judged by a panel of professionals including award-winning Island author Kieran Larwood. There will be a prestigious prize-giving ceremony at the Quay Arts in December 2020.

We will be publishing the winning entries in a book which will be available from December 2020, with all profits going to local children’s charity, the IW Story Festival.Entries should be submitted to office@styleofwight.co.uk or posted to Style of Wight, 8 Salisbury Gardens, Dudley Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight, PO38 1EJ.
